Stanton, TX is the county seat of Martin County, with a population around 3,000. It is primarily an agricultural town, but still has many ranches and shares in the oil production of the Permian Basin. Stanton is located 40 minutes northeast of Odessa and 1 hour 40 minutes south of Lubbock.
