SITE DESCRIPTION
The Emergency Department at Perry County Memorial Hospital is physician-staffed
twenty-four hours a day and is prepared to handle all of your emergency medicine needs. In
addition to two fully equipped trauma rooms, the department has six treatment rooms and a staff
of highly trained, experienced nurses and ER technicians.
Ancillary services such as Diagnostic Imaging, Respiratory Therapy and Laboratory are in
house twenty-four hours a day to assist in diagnosing problems and continuing care. Social
Services are on call at times to assist in the care of patients presenting to the Emergency
Department as needed and telepsych services with video conferencing with trained mental
health professionals are always available to assist with the acute psychiatric/behavioral health
needs of the community.

Located in Perry county, Tell City, Indiana, is 22 miles NE of Owensboro, Kentucky (center to
center) and 58 miles W of Louisville, Kentucky. Tell City was founded in 1858 by the Swiss
Colonization Society which aimed at making it a planned industrial city. Prior to the first
settlement in the region, the area was known as “Helvetia.” Later, it was renamed “Tell City,” a
