SITE DESCRIPTION

Morehouse General Hospital is a 49-bed full-service acute care hospital that provides comprehensive health care services in both inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. The Emergency Department is supported by a number of other emergency agencies. They work closely with Med Life ambulance service and Air Evac to ensure the best continuity and transfer of care. They also participate with Glenwood Medical Center’s Chest Pain Center to improve outcomes for patients who are exhibiting symptoms of a heart attack and Ochsner Health System’s Telestroke Services to improve outcomes for patients who are exhibiting symptoms of a stroke.

Bastrop, LA is the largest city and the parish seat of Morehouse Parish with a population of nearly 13,000 people. While they stay on the forefront of many technological advancements and social changes, the community strives to preserve its small-town spirit that inspires continued economic and civic growth and prosperity. Bastrop is located a little of 2 hours east of Shreveport, situated at the crossroads of US Highway 425 and US Highway 165.
