Scenic Mountain Medical Center (SMMC)is a 150-bed, full service community JCAHO accredited hospital, based in the heart of the west Texas Permian Basin. The hospital, which is accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), serves the 25,000 residents of Big Spring as well as Howard County (35,000) and the surrounding Permian Basin with a service area population of 1 million within a 100-mile radius.
